The following Fee Calculator may assist in assessing the cost of your needed service. Be sure to read through the steps and answer the questions. This calculator estimates the cost of service and additional fees may be applicable.
The calculator is for single title documents only. If the document has multiple titles, refer to the fee schedule above for the additional cost. Please note that checks written in excess amounts will not be refunded.
The left-hand 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches of the space shall be used by the public to show
the name of the person requesting recording and the name and address to which the
document is to be returned following recording. The remaining right-hand side 2
½ x 5 inches of space is to remain blank for Recorder Use Only. In the event the
first page or sheet of a document does not comply with these requirements, a separate
page shall be attached by the party requesting the recording to the front of the
document which meets these criteria and which reflects the title or titles of the
document as required by Section 27324 (GC27361.6). The coversheet is considered

This document type qualifies for the DA Fraud Fee (GC27388)
A Survey Monument Fee is applicable when someone is coming off of title and when the legal description on the Deed does not read as a complete Lot and Tract (GC27585). An example of an incomplete legal description would be when it reads as a portion of a lot such as NW ½ of... or it may include a section, township range... or xxx feet of the SW...
Documentary Transfer Tax (DTT) is applicable when any lands, tenements or other realty is sold within the county and when the consideration or value of the sale exceeds one hundred dollars ($100) (RTC11911).
All documents recorded are subject to the Building Homes and Jobs Act fee (GC 27388.1) unless exempted.
All documents recorded are subject to the Restrictive Covenant Modification fee (GC 27388.2) unless exempted.
A Preliminary Change of Ownership is required when recording this document and must be submitted at the time of the recording (RTC480.3) Preliminary Change of Ownership Form

Checks are to be made payable to the San Bernardino County Recorder. The Recorder-County Clerk Office will accept a Not To Exceed (NTE) check. The NTE amount will need to be written on the memo portion of the check. The space following the dollar sign and the line used for the written amount is to remain blank.

Payment can be made in the form of cash, preprinted check, debit or credit card. There is a $2.50 surcharge if using a debit or credit card.
