This award recognizes a County Department whose efforts demonstrate advancements in the goals and mission of San Bernardino County’s Equal Employment Opportunity Plan.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (October 7, 2020) – The San Bernardino County Equal Opportunity Commission (EOC) recognized the Assessor-Recorder-Clerk with the “Moving Ahead” Award. This award is given each year to a county department that demonstrates the advancement of goals and mission set forth in the County’s Equal Employment Opportunity Plan. The 11-member EOC Commission is comprised of commissioners appointed by county supervisors to monitor and review the County’s Equal Employment Opportunity efforts.

“The ARC team has worked extensively to cast a wide net of opportunity and help attract the best and brightest applicants from our local communities,” stated Assessor-Recorder Bob Dutton. “On behalf of the entire ARC family, I want to thank EOC Commissioners for presenting the ‘Moving Ahead’ Award to our department.”

“As Chair of the EOC, it is with great pleasure to recognize the Assessor-Recorder-Clerk for their innovative and impactful outreach efforts that truly are making a difference in San Bernardino County,” said Al Hernandez, Chair of the EOC.

Departments are evaluated by the EOC for their hiring and promotional efforts in achieving a diverse workforce, improving their workforce representation, and providing career development opportunities for county employees. The departments are also evaluated based on their creation of new and innovative ways to bring forth the Commission’s vision of achieving diversity in the workforce to reflect the communities served.

The “Moving Ahead” Award is presented annually at the Diversity and Inclusion Forum. Due to COVID-19, this year’s forum was not held and, instead, the EOC presented the award at the October 6, 2020 Board of Supervisors meeting.
