SAN BERNARDINO, CA (July 16, 2020) – San Bernardino County Assessor-Recorder-Clerk Bob Dutton signed the 2020 Annual Property Assessment Roll.

The 2020 San Bernardino County Assessment Roll contains 815,482 taxable parcels valued at $247,963,569,588 which is a 5.7% net increase as compared to the 2019 Assessment Roll. Upon his signature, Assessor Dutton delivered the 2020 Assessment Roll to the San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector.

“This year’s Assessment Roll for San Bernardino County is over $247 billion, which represents a 5.7% increase from the prior year,” said San Bernardino County Assessor-Recorder-Clerk Bob Dutton. “County assessors determine the value of property as of January 1st to be placed on the annual roll, as mandated by the state constitution. Events that transpire after January 1st are not reflective on the current annual roll. I wanted to highlight this because there are unknown impacts, if any, of COVID-19 on property valuations in San Bernardino County that would not be reflective in this year’s annual assessment roll.”

State law requires a county assessor to annually value all taxable property in the county to the person, business, or legal entity owning, claiming, possessing, or controlling the property on the previous lien date of January 1. Assessors also are required to discover all assessable property, inventory and list all taxable property, to value the property, and to enroll the property on the annual local assessment roll.

Assessed valuations should not be used as forecasts or be deemed as predictions of future property valuations. Annual assessment rolls are snapshots in time as of the previous January 1st lien date.

Individuals wishing to see their personal assessed values may visit the Assessor’s website. The public can also call the Assessor’s toll-free number at 1-877-885-7654.
